First Announcement and Call for Papers: Oriental COCOSDA 2010

The oriental chapter of COCOSDA (The International Committee for the Co-ordination and Standardization of Speech Databases and Assessment Techniques) is pleased to announce that the 13th Oriental COCOSDA Workshop will be held on November 24-25, in Kathmandu, Nepal. Oriental COCOSDA is an international workshop held annually by the oriental chapter of COCOSDA. The first preparatory meeting was held in Hong Kong in 1997 and then the past twelve workshops were held in following countries/regions: Japan, Taiwan, China, Korea, Thailand, Singapore, India, Indonesia, Malaysia, Vietnam, Japan and China.

Oriental COCOSDA workshop in Nepal will help in boosting the research and development in the field of Speech Technology and as well as further enthuse wider interests towards Speech Technology in East, Southeast and Middle Asia in general. Papers are invited on substantial, original and unpublished research on all aspects of speech databases, assessments and speech I/O, including, but not limited to:

1. Native and non-native, speech, text and spoken language corpora
2. Monolingual and multilingual speech, text and spoken language corpora
3. Multimodal and multilingual spoken language corpora

Systems:

1. Phonetic/phonological, orthographic and prosodic systems of oriental languages

31st Annual Conference of Linguistic Society of Nepal at Kathmandu, on November 26-27, 2010 A 2-day conference on Linguistics being held annually on the same dates from past 30 years and being a forum for Nepalese and foreign linguists working mainly but not limited to Nepalese languages. Papers have already been called, the deadline is August 23, 2010 a 120 to150-words abstract has to be submitted.
